WWII Pistol Ball Caliber .45 M1911 Ammunition. Lot E.C. -S-25120 Repacked E.C. 6-44. Box contains 50 cartridges with headstamp EC 43 (Evansville Ordnance Plant). During WWII a limited amount of M1911 ball ammo was produced with steel cartridge cases to conserve brass. These are even more difficult to find than the 1950s experimental steel cased M1911 ball and an interesting collectible illustrating war time conservation efforts.
